Originally from Austin, Texas, Hunter Lee Simmons (b. 2000) is a writer and illustrator specializing in science fiction, fantasy, and cinematic portraiture. While currently working as a freelance illustrator, he has found the most success as a screenwriter and independent filmmaker, with his writing and directing work appearing at film festivals from Austin to Los Angeles. Hunter’s work often mixes pop-culture and history with surrealism, reflecting his upbringing in the Texas Hill Country during the early 2000s.

Hunter graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2023 with a BFA in Communication Arts.
